A dynamic community-led charity

Bonny Downs has been serving the residents of the London Borough of Newham since 1998. They are a community-led charity that supports a diverse cross-section of the local community, working with people of all ages, cultures and backgrounds. 

Bonny Downs has a positive impact on local lives through a wide range of services and activities designed to bring people together and provide opportunities for people to connect with neighbours; improve their health and wellbeing; access the support they need; learn new skills; give back to their community; and celebrate life.

Friends of the Foodbank Network

ExCeL London Hospitality is one of a number of local companies which are proud to be part of Bonny Downs’ Friends of the Foodbank Network. We truly believe in the work Bonny Downs does in our community and support them through volunteer programmes, practical partnerships and a recent donation of £5,000 towards their efforts.

“One of the things the pandemic has highlighted is the invasive impact of poverty on so many areas of family life. ExCeL London’s generous funding helps us to continue and expand our support for our Newham neighbours in need through our food bank, offering people emergency food parcels as well as the opportunity to talk with our trained debt advisors and access additional wrap-around support.

The team at ExCeL really have gone over and above to support our neighbours in need over the last few year. We are so thankful for their continued support as we help families in Newham to build a brighter future!”
